Join in on the annual Engineering Staff and PhD students vs Undergrads sporting match
Date: Thursday 3rd October
Location: Fellows Oval
Time: Game starts at 2:00pm
For the past 13 years, Engineering staff and students have come together in friendly rivalry to compete for the Engineering Cup. Previous years have seen the teams compete in foosball, volleyball, rugby and soccer with the introduction of a cricket match new for 2013.
Anyone is welcome to participate and the staff team are still looking for players so if you would like to come along please email Matt Cousins to register your interest.
Alternatively, if cricket isn't your game, please come along to support the teams and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon. It is bound to be an exciting game with the 2013 match heralded as a grudge match after the staff/PhD suffered a shocking loss in soccer last year.
There will be a barbeque lunch organised by the students before the match, so make sure you get there early to secure your sausages and your spot on the sideline.
Also, at the BBQ, Engineering student, Amie Davis will be shaving her head for cancer.
Amie is fundraising for the Cancer Support Group. 100% of what is raised goes to families in ACT and the Eden Monaro area who are struggling through cancer. To-date, Amie has raised $770, her goal is to reach $1,000.
She will have donation boxes at the BBQ and also a receipt book if anyone wants to donate a significant amount - donations over $2 are tax deductible.
